Meeting Minutes from PCPNA Board of Directors Meeting (Monday, November 25, 2013)

Below, please find meeting minutes from the November 25th Palma Ceia Pines Board of Directors meeting.

Board of Directors Meeting
Monday – November 25, 2013
SoHo Starbucks
711 S. Howard Avenue – Tampa, FL

President Sandra Guggino called the meeting to order at 6:09PM.

Attendees Sandra Guggino, President; Alisha Pergola-Moralejo, Vice President; Kelly Verra, Incoming Secretary; Sherrie Moore, Business Liaison; Lisa Perkins, Incoming Communications Director; and, Michael Hart, Incoming Director At-Large. Absent (excused) Taffy Walker, Incoming Treasurer.  Quorum was established.

Meeting notice was emailed to the general membership on Saturday, November 23, 2013.


1.       Protocol for 2014 board meetings
·         Kelly motioned and Michael seconded to email meeting notices to members and then post notices/agendas on Facebook page and blog spot. Vote; motion carried unanimously.
·         Sherrie motioned and Michael seconded to post minutes within seven business days of meeting to Facebook page and blog.  Vote; motion carried unanimously.  Kelly added that minutes will be emailed to the board for approval before they are published.
·         Bylaws state the board meets monthly. Sandra, Alisha, Kelly, Sherrie, Lisa and Michael agreed to meet as often as business needs require.

2.       Individual priority for upcoming year
·         Sandra                                          Build paying members
·         Alisha                                            Charity/philanthropy
·         Kelly                                              Code enforcement/beautification
·         Sherrie                                         Recruit 5-10 business members
·         Lisa                                                 Organize Neighbor Day
·         Michael                                        LUC Meetings and engage membership

3.       Next General Membership Meeting
·         Tuesday, January 28, 6:00PM at Kate Jackson Community Center
·         Focus on membership drive and payment of $10/resident and $50/business annual dues
·         Kelly will prepare information flyer (dues, benefits and schools within PCPNA boundaries) to post on social media.

4.       Membership incentives
·         Dues must be paid to remain on email distribution list effective February 1, 2014.
·         Solicit gift cards from area businesses and have a drawing at each meeting.

5.       January 2014 Board Meeting
·         Monday, January 20, 6:00PM at The Flying Pan
·         Invite Membership Committee

Meeting adjourned at 7:13PM.

Officer Elections Information

"The Election Committee of the Palma Ceia Pines Neighborhood Association is seeking qualified candidates for our FY2014, (7) Member Board of Directors. [link to nomination form] Detailed descriptions of each office are provided on page 2 of the nomination form.

Any Individual Member, who is defined as a person 18 years of age or older, who resides or owns residential property within The Pines, and provides two forms of proof of residency may run. No two members of a family/household may be candidates at the same time. No person can seek or hold more than one position.

Nomination Deadline: Saturday, September 21, 2013
Submissions for specific offices will be accepted by email until 12 midnight.

Final ballots will be emailed to members by Monday, October 7, 2013.

SAVE THIS DATE: Election Meeting is Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Noise Complaints

Two members of the Tampa Police Department were nice enough to take time out of their day to attend our meeting to address the noise issues associated with local businesses (i.e. The Patio) and answer any questions.

Our most recent meting was held on February 7, 2013.  At the meeting, we decided on a name and elected the interim officers.  We are moving forward!!

Welcome to Palma Ceia Pines! This blog is your link to neighborhoods news and updates.  The neighborhood association began on February 7, 2013 when the name and interim officers were voted on by residents.  These officers will hold their positions for 6 months and we will then vote for permanent officers at that time.
