Residential Permit Parking - Important Meeting January 8 - Update

From Sandra Guggino, President, Palma Ceia Pines Neighborhood Association: Residential Permit Parking - Important Meeting January 8 - Update

Dear Neighbors and Fellow Property Owners: I am contacting you on behalf of Palma Ceia Pines Neighborhood Association Parking Committee. We have an important meeting coming up on Thursday, January 8 that will determine if we can advance in our request for residential permit parking.

You should have received the notice* (see orange card in previous Facebook post). City of Tampa provides link www.tampagov.net/parking/palma-ceia-pines-community-residential-parking-meeting-2 for you to view two distinct areas that are under consideration. No other streets or blocks are included at this time but may be added at a later date by majority consent of affected property owners. Parking committee requested postponement of vote on Thursday, January 8. Recent Transportation Study and its resulting proposal raised too many questions. Staff members in Code Enforcement, Land Development Coordination, Transportation and Zoning will now join panel on January 8. Tampa City Council members and their legislative aides have also been invited.

It is important to note that our intention is to increase availability of street parking for residents and their guests, as well as minimize nuisances and inconveniences caused by non-residents making their way to vehicles parked in our neighborhoods late at night. Neither proposed residential program nor status quo is reasonable, which is why city officials want to continue discussion.

In closing, we ask that you take the time to carefully review all of this information and make every effort to attend on January 8. Thank you, Sandra Guggino President Palma Ceia Pines Neighborhood Association
